The Gold 45/100 is the culmination of the search for the classic JTM 45/100 in a simple and cleanly executed pedal.

Having had the good fortune to play extensively through an original JTM 45/100 and countless vintage plexi's, I have always consider these crown jewels to be the sonic footprint of a generation. I have tweaked the Gold 45/100 as closely as I could to capturing the essential qualities of those amps including the big and just-enough-sag in the low end; the fat mids and just-right top-end. There is plenty of gain to recreate the dimed quality of these amplifiers but accurate enough to not get mushy.

The lean/rich control was designed with a specific goal: when turned fully counter-clockwise in the lean position, it approximates the tone and feel of plugging into the Normal channel of the amp. In the fully clockwise position, it approximates the tone and feel of plugging into the Bright input. Set it in the middle and you approximate the sound of jumpering the inputs!

The Monarch Overdrive is an all discrete, FET based dirt machine. It's designed around the input stage of a vintage amp produced by a company that bears the same name as the color of the monarch (hint...). It's been configured to produce higher gains that sound very natural and free of compression. The treble and bass controls function as frequency boosters, not the traditional roll off filters in most OD's. They are located in the preamp section and have a large impact on the over all tone, nature and distortion characteristics of the pedal as well as your amp.
